Hosting any child’s birthday party is a lot of work, so it is best to plan ahead. But what if it involves a sleepover? Let’s look at how you can have a Hello Kitty birthday party for your next birthday party sleep-over bash.

With any sort of gathering it is important to establish rules and make sure everyone understands them. When hosting a sleep-over for preteens this becomes crucial if you as the host are to get any sleep.

The first thing you need to do is set a mandatory lights out time. Having bed time after a movie is not a good idea and sometimes it can energize the girls. I suggest you plan some drawing or coloring activity without the TV blaring or music blasting. This will help prepare their bodies for sleeping. You can search the internet for free coloring patterns or buy cheap Hello Kitty coloring books at a department store.

There is nothing better than giving make up to young girls. Why not give them all the hello kitty colors and see what they come up with. It’s best to do this type of thing in the kitchen or a room where there is little fabric. If you haven’t ever had to clean make-up out of fabric, let me tell you, that it is a pain. Be sure to take as many pictures as possible. Not only will the girls love them, you can show other parents what a nightmare you had to go through. Or at least, pretend that it was a nightmare.

If you are having a unisex party, then you can prepare an activity to make “keep out!” signs. Be sure to pick up Hello Kitty stickers and make it clear that they are for the signs only. This can be a great way to setup their defenses against the boys.

When it comes to food, simple is better. Of course you will have bought a Hello Kitty Cake I’m sure. If all else fails you can go to your local bakery and hope they can whip something up for you. The best thing for you to do is load up on finger foods, cheese sticks, juice boxes, chips, and cookies. But beware that some kid’s may have allergies so always check ahead. Pre packaged foods are great because they are usually spill resistant.

After your successful Hello Kitty birthday party sleep over, why not hand out small gift bags full of Hello Kitty gear? This can include pens, pencils, snacks, color books, paper hats, and whatever else you can find with Hello Kitty attached to.
